Beginning of the composer’s lifetime.
Rosita Piritore was born in 1996 and showed musical talent early in life. She began playing the melodica at age 9, then moved on to keyboard instruments. When she was 11, Rosita started formal piano studies in her hometown of Palma di Montechiaro, Sicily, with teachers Salvatore Rinaldo and Adele Capitano. She also attended the Conservatory V. Bellini in Caltanissetta, following pre-academic courses while finishing middle and high school. In 2014, she graduated from high school with honors and completed the inferior completion, allowing her to start a three-year academic program at the same conservatory, studying under Daniele Riggi. In 2017, Rosita earned a Bachelor's degree in piano and musical disciplines with top marks and honors. Her thesis focused on Claude Debussy's aesthetic revolution and the influence of popular music on his keyboard style. That year, she began studying at the A. Boito Conservatory in Parma, where she also gained teaching credits. Her piano teacher was Raffaele D’Aniello and she studied composition with Luigi Abbate. Rosita completed her master's degree in piano in 2019 with top honors, presenting a thesis about women composers bridging past and future. Rosita performs as a versatile musician, playing solo and with chamber groups, bands, and orchestras in various Italian cities. Her musical interests include jazz, blues, pop, post-rock, minimalism, and progressive music. She has recorded with S.O.S. and Iricanti bands and creates experimental electroacoustic and electronic music. Additionally, she accompanies instrumental and vocal classes and participates as an accompanist in masterclasses and competitions both nationally and internationally. She has won several awards for piano and composition competitions since 2008, including prizes for works opposing gender stereotypes and for film music. Rosita was recognized internationally in contests such as the Maurice Ravel competition and received multiple honorable mentions. She represented Italy in the EOALAB project by the European Opera Academy, collaborating across Europe in creating a new opera work. Her compositions have been performed in Italy and America and broadcast on the radio. Her music is published by Studiomusicalicata Edizioni Musicali and Edizioni Romana Musica.
