Luise Adolpha Le Beau started learning piano from her father, William, who was a musician and composer, when she was five years old. At sixteen, she finished her schooling at a private school for girls and decided to focus on music. She later took piano lessons from Hofkapellmeister William Kalliwoda in Karlsruhe and singing lessons from Anton Haizinger. In 1868, she made her public debut as a pianist by performing Beethoven's E-flat major Concerto and Mendelssohn's G minor Concerto in Karlsruhe. In 1903, Le Beau stopped her musical career, and between 1906 and 1910, she lived in Italy. That year, she published her autobiography called "Memoirs of a Female Composer," where she shared stories about her concerts and experiences with colleagues. However, she only briefly mentioned her personal life, including her way of composing and sources of inspiration. During her later years, Le Beau traveled, taught, composed, held concerts, and wrote music reviews for the Baden-Baden newspaper. She began performing concerts in Baden-Baden and, in 1922, received a lifetime pension from the father of one of her former students. On her 75th birthday, she played a concert featuring her piano works. Le Beau passed away at the age of 77 in Baden-Baden and was buried beside her parents in the city cemetery. To honor her memory, Baden-Baden named their music library after her and placed a memorial plaque on the building at Lichtenaler Straße 46, where she lived and died.
