This collection of ten pieces was written for the composer's daughters' own use in their musical studies. Each piece is a miniature of tasteful expression that provides an aural experience thanks to the combined modal-tonal flavor. Additionally, they offer a challenge with their always musical technical problems. A mood picture in 9/8 meter, "Dream" opens pianissimo, with an evocative melody on the right hand and a stable eight notes accompaniment on the left hand. On measure 10, the roles are switched. The right hand assumes the eighth-note figures while the left hand melody enters with an espressivo marking.
