Portrait of Marguerite Balutet

Marguerite Balutet

Jul 1, 1853 - Aug 20, 1928

France

Marguerite Balutet was a French musician active in the late 1800s. She was both a pianist and a composer during this time. Her work comes from that period in France’s musical history. She trained at the Paris Conservatoire, a well-known music school. There, she studied piano under Felix le Couppey, who was her piano teacher. At the same school, she also studied harmony with Augustin Savard, another music teacher. Balutet’s education included these studies, which helped to shape her skills in both performance and composition. Her training reflects the musical education available in Paris during her time. Beyond these details, little more is recorded about her career or life.
