All 6 Sonatinas from Opus 36 by Clementi are great pieces to learn the basic elements of a classical sonata and to develop the foundations of piano technique. This movement of his 3rd sonatina is one of the most famous of the set. There is a lot of contrast between the two main themes: the first calls for a bold and joyful character, while the second is sweet and tender.
