"Twelve Preludes" by Brown are a great collection for early-late intermediate piano where you can experience the lyrical qualities and stylistic aspects of the music of the Romantic period and offer a valuable preparation to a more advanced repertoire. The second piece in the collection is very lyrical with a sad quality. Here the challenge is on the left-hand repeated notes, that need to be played with a consistent touch without letting them overshadow the melody on the right-hand.
