Butterflies Op.30 No.9

Sergei Bortkiewicz

What's this piece like?
This is the ninth piece from a collection inspired by the stories of Hans Christian Andersen. The music brings to life a butterfly gently flying from flower to flower, searching for the perfect one to marry. But the butterfly takes too long to choose, and eventually it is too late. The piece captures the lightness and beauty of the butterfly, with a touch of sadness beneath its gentle charm.
Who's this piece for?
This is a great piece for intermediate level pianists with a solid foundation and strong technique.
