Waltz Op. 69, No. 2 “Two Waltzes” was composed by Chopin when he was only 19 years old although published posthumously in 1852. The piece is largely melancholic with three different sections and melodies which changes to B major and again reverts to the original theme. The accompaniment pattern found in most of the Chopin waltzes is a very typical: “bass note-chord-chord”, associated with the strong-weak-weak pulse. The left-hand needs to move quickly while staying quiet, leaving the melodic expressivity to the right hand that holds the melody.
