Chopin's 24 Preludes, Op. 28, are a set of pieces for the piano, one in each of the twenty-four keys. Chopin wrote them in Majorca (Spanish island in the Mediterranean), where he spent the winter with George Sand and her children to escape the damp Paris weather. In the first prelude of the set the melody is displaced by one eighth note, creating a sense of urgency and excitement.
