Farrenc’s "Studies of medium difficulty" is a collection of twenty short pieces written specifically for intermediate level pianists, each of them focusing on a specific piano technique. The 4th piece in this album explores ascending and descending arpeggios played with both right and left hands. Crossing of the thumbs while maintaining an even sound and expressive playing is the main challenge in this piece.
