What's this piece like?
The "tree cycle" is one of the finest examples of the composer's sensitive, poetic writings: "the trees speak" to him. This is one of Sibelius' most famous piano works. The first piece in this cycle opens with an intricate 3-part writing full of chromaticisms and surprising turns, which leads to a beautiful theme in the next section.
