The first book of the collection "Children album" contains 10 works, including all eight pieces previously published as “Adventures of Ivan” (a suite of eight characterful piano miniatures, the titles of which suggest a narrative or snapshots in the life of a young boy called Ivan). The Etude (also known as "Ivan is very busy") is a study in sharp articulation and percussive action. The quick and unpredictable motion of notes gives this piece a hurried character, which is enhanced by the wide contrasts between light and heavy sections.
