About this piece
A tarantella is a fast-paced, lively dance from southern Italy, originally thought to cure tarantula bites through frenzied movement. Typically in 6/8 time, the music is upbeat with driving rhythms, minor key melodies, and energetic, swirling motions.
The challenge in this piece is in maintaining clarity at high speeds while capturing the dance's light, playful energy and dynamic contrasts.
