What's this piece like?
Bach's French Suites are great sets for those who have already played his little preludes and inventions. These pieces are not as demanding as the English Suites in terms of technique, but musically they are absolutely wonderful, just like everything else Bach wrote. This Allemande is slow and, serious, but gentle and graceful at the same time. The "walking bass" in the left hand gives it a calming quality, while the counterpoint in the right hand provides a rich and colorful texture.

This is a great piece for intermediate level pianists with a solid foundation and strong technique.
