Five Animal Sketches is a collection of short character pieces. Besides representing a specific character or mood from an animal, each piece also focuses on very specific techniques. The Bear is subtitled "Ursine Clumsiness". The piece has a very interesting structure, with the first two bars depicting that clumsy character, followed by two bars with a more sophisticated and melodic texture. Although this piece is mostly written for the left hand, voicing measures 3 and 4 will not be easy and certainly help you develop that skill.
