Visions Fugitives Op. 22 is a cycle of twenty piano miniatures, which brings dissonant harmonies similar to music by contemporaries such as Schoenberg and Scriabin although retaining more traditional concepts of form and rhythm. The first movement, a minute in duration, begins with impressionistic-sounding harmonies and a wandering melody. This main theme is suddenly interrupted by a much darker and more mysterious sequence of chords.
